Vintage Strawberries

Vintage Strawberries postcard

My sister-in-law recently asked me for food pictures for her newly remodeled kitchen. One of the pictures she selected had sliced meat and cheese with a pickle in the background. Her daughter, however, balked at this because she doesn’t like pickles. She said that it would be hard for her to walk in the kitchen and see this pickle staring at her every day. I must admit that she has a point. If you want food pictures for your home, they have to have a positive, emotional significance for you.

Take strawberries, for example. Lensmaster prosperity66 has a thing for strawberries. She grows them, she eats them, and she loves to look at them. In her lens, Vintage Strawberry Pictures, she makes the case that vintage strawberry pictures are a great choice for your home.

Why vintage? For one thing, vintage prints look like paintings and they evoke feelings of the good old days. Not only does she provide examples of the very best vintage strawberry pictures, prosperity66 also suggests the type of room and background color that would work best with each print. For example, a picture of a strawberry milkshake would go well in a kitchen designed in the style of a 50’s snack shop or malt bar. A poster in gold and red, advertising a strawberry festival, would work well in a Tuscan-designed room. Rustic-style prints would add a nice touch to a porch or a summer cottage. Besides poster prints, you will also find a wonderful collection of vintage strawberry print ads which could be framed.

And if you would like to learn how to grow your own strawberries, prosperity66 has several lenses that will show you how.

  2. Strawberries are such a pretty, summery theme and this vintage selection from prosperity66 has something for every kitchen. She certainly is the expert on growing strawberries in pots and hanging baskets too -- and now is a good time to start planning for this year's home-grown crop!

By the way, we think alike, Kim. I was planning to feature this lovely lensmaster on Monday. I'll now keep that review for a later date, I have a newcomer to introduce instead. :)

  5. OMG! Kim! I didn't know you would make such a fantastic post about my Vintage Strawberry Pictures! I'm honored to have my link into this post! You can't imagine how I appreciate and am finally proud of my not so horrible English-speaking lens.

I was gone shopping this afternoon and yeah, you're right, I've got a thing with strawberries! I bought new plants - to complement my existing collection, small strawberries, sweet strawberries, and so on. I didn't know where to look in the store! I would have like to buy ALL the strawberry plants there are.

I definitely need to go to see a psychiatrist, lol.

Anyway, I'll update my lenses with a pic of the strawberry plant in hanging pot I bought along with all other strawberries I've got today!

Thanks for featuring this lens: it's the kind of pictures I'll add to my kitchen when it'll be finished - have to paint the walls and hand some shelves and then will pin my lovely strawberry posters :)

    Thanks again, Kim!
