Winner: Typical Squidoo Day

Thank you, Joan Adams, Katinka Hesselink, LeanneChesser, Guest, and Kim for responding to the Question Of The Week!

This week, our winner is... Katinka. ...Congratulations!

Katinka's response to the QOTW (What is your typical Squidoo day like?):

My typical squidoo day starts with opening my account to approve and deny comments. It ends with the same. I also tend to look at my stats some.

On a good day I make one or two lenses. Recently the squidquiz platform has really opened up my creative juices for instance. However, a few bugs have popped up, so now that series is on a backburner.

Many squidoo days are devoted to optimizing the interlinking of my lenses and other online work. For instance: optimizing tags, featuring lenses, adding links to lenses and from lenses to other websites I own. With Christmas coming up I added Christmas related tags to all my commercial lenses and made sure I had good links to the ones that make me most sales.

Here are all of Katinka's lenses as of today:
Thank you again fellow Squids!

Giant Squid Challenge

Due to a loss in the family, the blog is on hiatus this week.
For now, I'd like to post about the Giant Squid Challenge.

If you aspire to be a Giant or a Giant 100, the group is a great place for support and help. You don't even have to commit to creating 50 great lenses (or 100) this quarter; you can still join, and stay until you meet your goal.

The challenge group is to help you learn to create great lenses — not necessarily for becoming a Giant by December 30. So, if you love Squidoo and want to learn to be the best lensmaster you can be, join the group.

Folks who have received nomination letters should really consider joining because that nomination is proof to you that someone thinks you have what it takes.

Again, going for Giant or for the 100 Club, the group is for you for however long it takes.

See you this weekend, Sunday probably, when I will post the winner to last week's Question Of The Week. (Check out the QOTW; there's still time to post a response.)

Winner: Pet Peeves About Other Lenses

Thank you, Veronica, BevsPaper, kab, JoanHall, jptanabe, Chef Keem, and AJ for responding to the Question Of The Week! Great responses, and ALL worth heeding. Well, with Chef's you get a bonus chuckle. :D

This week, our winner is... kab. ...Congratulations!

kab's response to the QOTW (When reading others' lenses, what is your pet peeve?):

I can't stand it when lensmasters overwork the lens with css and html to the point where it takes over and detracts from the actual content. CSS should be used to enhance the content and to direct the attention to the important parts.

Here are all of kab's lenses as of today:
Thank you again fellow Squids!

Winner: What lens for Lens of the Day?

Thank you, _Joan_, Clouda9, and kimmanleyort for responding to the Question Of The Week!

This week, our winner is... kimmanleyort. ...Congratulations!

Kims's response to the QOTW (What lens (not yours) should be the next Lens Of The Day — and why? (Leave the link.):

Lensmaster KNicholls writes, "I hope that this lens brings some understanding about the journey of spouses who find themselves married to someone who is gay."

I found this lens to be very well written, moving, and having the ability to help others in the same situation.

Here are all of Kim's lenses as of today:
Thank you again, ladies!
