Janelle's response to the QOTW (Have you been to Crabbysbeach — and what do you think about it?):
Looks like Alex has got a good thing getting started there. I visited today, both the lens about it and the site itself, and both were well worth the time invested. The 2 things I liked best about the lens were the interesting widget he used to highlight the books, and the concept of link wheels, which I had never heard of before.
Then I visited Crabby's Beach itself, and was impressed by the idea, but just a teesy bit confused by the execution, although that's a result of my brain fog and not a reflection on Alex's work. I like that it's going to be a community of Squids, which will be a wonderful way to keep up with my squid-buds, and I am going to participate once I figure out where I'd best fit in.
The only problem I foresee is personal - I'm going to have to build myself a Squidoo Home Page and link to all the Squid-Spots I love, because my bookmarking system is over loaded now.

Top 10 Grammatical errors--
1) General spelling errors
2) missing comma after an introductory statement
3) vague pronoun references
4) confusing a wrong word--affect vs effect, for example
5) missing or misplaced possessive apostrophe
6) Shifting tense wrongly--this is why it's good to read aloud what it is that you've written
7) wrong tense or verb form
8) missing comma in a series
9) lack of agreement between pronoun and antecedent
10 its/it's confusion-- My tractor is lying on its side in a ditch. It's going to be towed very soon to the garage for repair.
I've seen them all but not not everyday! I know, I know: I should have been a grammer teacher.

I'd like to see my lens on Mentoring Children reach the top spot. This lens is about the In2Books that could really use help for the coming school year. I think if I could draw more attention to my lens then it would help in finding more online reading mentors for these children.
