Lensmaster CleanerLife Interview

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What makes you passionate about Squidoo.com?

CleanerLife: The strong sense of community and the great feedback I've received from my fellow Lensmasters. I've made quite a few friends on Squidoo, and other online forums such as SquidU, Twitter and the Squidoo Chat Room have helped to make some of them stronger. There are many people working to make Squidoo better by sharing, and cheering on other members of the Squidoo community.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: Is Squidoo perfect already or what could make it better?

CleanerLife: Of course Squidoo isn't perfect, but as Squidoo HQ continues to improve and adapt to the on going changes of technology and the Internet, the community of Lensmasters continues to help each other refine their craft and make the best Lenses they can.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What inspires you to make a new lens?

CleanerLife: Usually a strong desire to share something I'm passionate about, especially if it looks to me as if there isn't already a lot of quality information on that subject on Squidoo already, or I feel I have a unique viewpoint to share.

I find that if I'm making a Lens that features a product, it helps if I feel strongly about the product, and actually use it.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: How many lenses do you have?

CleanerLife: I currently have 50 published Lenses. At the time I'm writing this, my Lens on King Crimson King Crimson was caught in the spam filter and is sitting in limbo as it waits to be reviewed by a real person at Squidoo HQ. It hasn't been locked, people can still visit it, but it doesn't appear on my Lensmaster page. [There is lag time between interviews and posting them. Happy to report that King Crimson now shows up on CleanerLife's Lensmaster page.]

I have 5 more Works In Progress, and some of those will probably be published soon.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What is your most popular lens?

CleanerLife: That's actually a tough question. Currently my highest ranked Lens is CleanerLife's Lenses

My highest rated Lens is The Love Of Dragons: Dragons In Books And On Video

My Lens with the highest life time traffic is DIY Auto Backup Camera: How To Install A Backup Camera On Your Car, Truck, SUV, Or RV

And the Lens that I've made the most money from is Hotel Bedding Sets | Bedding Featured in Many Marriott® and Ritz-Carlton® Hotels

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What one sentence or one word describes your success?

I'm off to a great start, and can only see things getting better from here.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What should a newbie do first?

CleanerLife: This is very hard because there's a lot of things newbies need to do.

Getting help from other Lensmasters is very important. That can be done by browsing the Top 100 Squidoo Tips, browsing the forums, and getting involved at SquidU. They can also get tips from SquidU Review and The Answer Deck there.

They can get help from Lensmasters by reading blogs by Lensmasters. My two favorites are Captain Squid's "The Best Squidoo Blog Ever" - the link to the Squidoo Chat Room is there , too) and thefluffanutta's SquidUtils Blog - a link to SquidUtils, which is a powerful set of tools for Lensmasters to use, is there). Other great Squidoo blogs can be found at Squidoospere some are blogs with more tips, others are just the personal experiences of Lensmasters, so it's a great way to learn more, and get inspired.

Just browsing the Top 100 lists on Squidoo can help a newbie to see what the best Lenses look like, how they are laid out, and a sampling of different successful writing styles.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: Which of your lenses do you want to make sure the whole world knows about?

CleanerLife: All of them! But I'm the first to admit that not all of my topics are going to be of universal interest, so I'm grateful for any recognition I receive.

Lensmaster lisadh Interview

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What makes you passionate about Squidoo.com?

lisadh: It’s fun! I think it's one of the best publishing platforms on the web because you're not limited to simply writing text. Being able to add videos from YouTube, products from Amazon and eBay, info from Wikipedia, your own HTML, etc. makes it much more interesting than other places to write articles. And I really, really love the fact that part of the profit goes to charity.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: Is Squidoo perfect already or what could make it better?

lisadh: It's pretty good, but I’d love to see a dashboard warning that tells you when you have a dead link on one of your lenses.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What inspires you to make a new lens?

lisadh: Almost anything! I get ideas from reading the news, talking with friends, surfing the web, and everyday living.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: How many lenses do you have?

lisadh: 142 lenses and counting! [Yep. Definitely counting — 164 as of this post!]

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What is your most popular lens?

lisadh: For a long time it was Women Presidents and Prime Ministers, but that became much less popular after the November elections. Right now my most popular is Elf Yourself, Become an M&M or Turn into a Simpsons Character.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What one sentence or one word describes your success?

lisadh: Keywords. When I build a lens, I always use the Google keyword tool to see what words people are searching for that are related to my topic.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What should a newbie do first?

lisadh: Read some “how to” lenses on the Answer Deck and visit a variety of lenses in the top 100 of each category to see what makes a good lens.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: Which of your lenses do you want to make sure the whole world knows about?

lisadh: All of them! J

Ok, if I have to pick just one it would be What Is Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID)?
I know someone with this condition, which used to be called multiple personality disorder, so this lens is near and dear to my heart. It’s definitely one of my most serious lenses, but also one of my best (IMHO).

Lensmaster ElizabethJeanAllen Interview

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What makes you passionate about Squidoo.com?

ElizabethJeanAllen: I am a teacher with an insatiable curiosity. When a topic catches my interest, I want to explore it and then share it. My students may not be interested in Senior Fitness, but there are plenty of people on Squidoo that are. Teachers like to teach and the Squidoo classroom spans the globe. Who can ask for more than that?

Squidoo Lens Reviews: Is Squidoo perfect already or what could make it better?

ElizabethJeanAllen: Lenses are listed by lensrank on the dashboard and I understand why, but I wish there was a sort button. I know what lenses are close to the top and the ones that have sunk to the bottom, but when I’m looking for a lens in the middle, it takes awhile to find it.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What inspires you to make a new lens?

ElizabethJeanAllen: Topics come from daily life, hobbies, or what I’m currently teaching in school. Whatever catches my interest at the time either ends up in a lens, in one of my blogs, or is woven into my latest novel.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: How many lenses do you have?

ElizabethJeanAllen: I currently have 127 lenses. My goal is to top 150 by my first anniversary in March. [Can't say she didn't try! 142 as of this posting.]

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What is your most popular lens?

ElizabethJeanAllen: The Mallard Duck replaced
The Red-tailed Hawk last summer and has pretty much held the lead ever since. [Bonnie and Clyde in the lead at the moment]

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What one sentence or one word describes your success?

ElizabethJeanAllen: I build lenses on topics that interest me rather than focus on making money.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What should a newbie do first?

ElizabethJeanAllen: Students have always learned from the masters and it’s no different on Squidoo. Read, read, read. By emulating the masters they will find their own path to success.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: Which of your lenses do you want to make sure the whole world knows about?

ElizabethJeanAllen: That would be Create a Kinder World: Say Something Nice. It’s a simple reminder of basic common courtesy, and it touched a lot of people. The world can be cruel, but a few kind words can make a world of difference.

Lensmaster awelldressedbullet Interview

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What makes you passionate about Squidoo.com?

awelldressedbullet: I honestly don't know what it is that makes us so passionate about Squidoo, but for so many of us, we are. I think it is just a combination of the community, the staff, the volunteers, the enjoyment of creating lenses, meeting new people, learning new things, and the way everything just runs so nicely together. I truly enjoy my creative Squidoo time and love that I am leaving my "footprints" all over Squidoo. :-)

Squidoo Lens Reviews: Is Squidoo perfect already or what could make it better?

awelldressedbullet: I don't think anything is ever perfect, but can't think of anything that Squidoo really is lacking. I do hope that Squidoo never loses their focus or become so big that they forget that it truly is a village (us, the community) that raises a child (Squidoo).

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What inspires you to make a new lens?

awelldressedbullet: I'm one of those people that things just pop into my head that I think will make a great lens. But it has to be a topic that I enjoy, I don't make lenses just for the sake of making lenses; they have to have a purpose. Either I enjoy the topic, find it interesting, find it funny or hope they are helpful to other people.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: How many lenses do you have?

awelldressedbullet: I'm at 248 right now and not sure where it will stop. Oh dear, ok, you got me, it will NEVER stop, there I admitted! OK! LOL

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What is your most popular lens?

awelldressedbullet: Ever since my I Love Avocados lens was honored with LOTD in Sept 2007, this has remained as my most popular lens.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What one sentence or one word describes your success?

awelldressedbullet: Just me being me and trying to be part of the Squidoo community.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What should a newbie do first?

awelldressedbullet: Take a deep breath. It is always very overwhelming to learn something new, so the best place for a new lensmaster to visit is SquidU. They will meet lensmasters who will gladly offer their advice and recommend helpful how to lenses.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: Which of your lenses do you want to make sure the whole world knows about?

awelldressedbullet: Wow, that is a difficult one to answer, I actually love all of my lenses, well most of them. I think the one lens that I had the most enjoyment making was Squidoo Orange Guy Visits Canada. It is just a really super silly lens which truly shows my desire to make people laugh.
