On my best Squidoo day, I work a bit on something in WIP, publish a lens, promote 3 lenses on 3 sites, update 3 older lenses and visit at least 5 lenses. It does not always work exactly that way, but that is my overall daily goal for Squidoo-ing. I work on at least 3 at a time in WIP, a little bit at a time.
My typical squidoo day starts with opening my account to approve and deny comments. It ends with the same. I also tend to look at my stats some.
On a good day I make one or two lenses. Recently the squidquiz platform has really opened up my creative juices for instance. However, a few bugs have popped up, so now that series is on a backburner.
Many squidoo days are devoted to optimizing the interlinking of my lenses and other online work. For instance: optimizing tags, featuring lenses, adding links to lenses and from lenses to other websites I own. With Christmas coming up I added Christmas related tags to all my commercial lenses and made sure I had good links to the ones that make me most sales.
On a typical day, I get up and check into RocketMoms and Giant Squid. I work on the weekly challenge lenses (as well as other lenses), contribute to the discussions going on in those two groups, visit other lenses, learn stuff, check my comments, spend about 2 minutes getting ready and then go to work at my full time job.
From there, I continue to check into RocketMoms and Giant Squid, work on my lenses, learn stuff, contribute to discussions and check my comments! LOL! It's a good thing I'm in an Admin position and no longer in the classroom! On a good day, I also get into the SquidU forums.
When I get home from work, I spend some time with my kids (luckily, they're mostly grown so they're not traumatized by my Squidoo addiction), eat, do other tasks (business and personal) that need to be done . . . and, can you guess?? Yep. Work some more on Squidoo. Ha! I love it.
On a typical squidoo work day I come home after work, log into some ning networks to check if there is an answer for me regarding a newly published lens, comment on some other lenses, and then I either do some research for the next lens or actually write the lens (in a work week it takes me usually two days to create a lens). On the weekend it is the same with the difference that I do the research in the morning and create the lens in the afternoon...
From the answers below, I would say that there is no typical Squidoo day! Since Giant Squid Challenge ended, I have more flexibility in my day. Less time is spent making lenses - since I don't have a goal to create at least 3 lenses per week. More time now is spent optimizing existing lenses, promoting other lenses, blogging, and working on my Zazzle and other stores. I belong to several communities - Senior Squids, RocketMoms, Fresh Wonders, and Crabbysbeach. I like that I can pick and choose the challenge lenses available and I've been able to finish some WIP's.
