I use GIMP everyday for all of my image work. Loved the showcase for http://blog.growwear.com/search/label/GIMP Thank You for introducing me to another artist who loves gimp.
I generally use gimp on all photo image manipulation, although I rarely use it for drawing. I tend to prefer Inkscape for drawing - I have done plenty of diagrams for lenses with it.
