Lensmaster Jimmie Interview

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What makes you passionate about Squidoo.com?

Jimmie: It's really super duper easy to use. I find it a great, free creative outlet.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: Is Squidoo perfect already or what could make it better?

Jimmie: Well, we all have our pet peeves. But I'd be nitpicking to point them out. I'd prefer to remain positive and say that Squidoo is a lot of fun.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What inspires you to make a new lens?

Jimmie: Seeing questions on a forum and thinking, "I know the answer to that!" or even, "I'd like to research that." or Writing a blog entry and finding that it resonates with or fascinates my readers. My squatty potty lens is like that. I had no idea that the squatty potty was so intriguing to people until I included a picture of the squatty in my apartment in a blog post. I had so many comments and questions about that one picture that I made a lens about it, explaining how to use the squatty potty. It's not as bad as most people think. And it actually has some health benefits.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: How many lenses do you have?

Jimmie: Over 50.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What is your most popular lens?

Jimmie: By far, my first and most popular lens is Lapbooking. It started as a way to organize my links and ideas -- purely for me! And it blossomed into one of the most frequented lapbooking sites on the web. Amazing.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What one sentence or one word describes your success?

Jimmie: Niche. I found a niche -- lapbooking-- that no one had previously taken and organized into a comprehensive webpage.

Squidoo Lens Reviews: What should a newbie do first?

Jimmie
:
  1. Jump right in, designing a lens. Just keep fiddling with it until it looks good to you. Visit the Answer Deck and read old posts at the forum.
  2. Learn how to add images to your lens. Graphics are gold!
  3. Then share your lens with those who would be interested in your topic --forums or email groups are great sources of traffic for me.
Squidoo Lens Reviews: Which of your lenses do you want to make sure the whole world knows about?

Jimmie: Actually, I'd like to share two groups that I run:
